Regenerating Birkenhead Waterfront and Woodside Ferry Terminal
Pell Frischmann is delighted to have been supporting John Sisk & Son as lead design consultant on the Birkenhead Waterfront Scheme and Woodside Ferry Terminal Upgrade, commissioned by Wirral Council.
Pell Frischmann’s design team includes our partners BCA Landscape, 4Way Consulting, Lexington Comms, Hive Planning and Lanpro.
The plan encompasses six connected road and public realm projects across the waterfront and town centre, including the regeneration of Woodside Ferry Terminal. This will transform the area around the terminal into a main entrance from the waterfront, passing through the conservation area of Hamilton Square and into Birkenhead Town Centre.
We will be delivering the following services:
- Highway, Civil, and Structural Engineering
- Flood Risk Assessment with drainage designs
- Active Travel Design to adopt inclusive access for all
- Transport Planning Modelling
- Urban Regeneration
- Landscape Architecture
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Environmental Consulting
- Lighting design
- Traffic Signal design
- Project and Stakeholder Management
- Planning Consultancy across the RIBA 3 & RIBA 4 project stages
The detailed design for the scheme is expected to be completed by summer 2025. We look forward to progressing the scheme into the construction phase in close collaboration with John Sisk & Son.
