It was fantastic to see members of our Wakefield office participate in the Business Fives Charity Football Tournament held in Sheffield last Friday!

The team, with the help of our office bake sale, not only raised money for the Rotherham Foodbank Charity but also helped contribute to the overall collective, raising an impressive £3,157 for local and national charities, including Rotherham Hospice.

Adding to the excitement, it was great to see our team come second place in their league. A huge well done to all our players and those who contributed to the donations!

Our Work In Rotherham

The recently concluded works at Ickles Lock mark a significant milestone in Rotherham Renaissance Flood Alleviation Scheme (RRFAS), a comprehensive initiative by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to mitigate the risks of severe flooding along the River Don and its tributaries. The scheme, covering a 5 km-long stretch of the river, passes through Temple borough, Rotherham Town Centre, and Parkgate, addressing vulnerabilities exposed during past flood events, notably in 2007 and 2019.

One of the most notable features of the finished project is the 125-metre-long concrete wall that has been built between the railway and canal, stretching from Ickles Lock to Centenary Way in Rotherham Town Centre. The wall also features a colourful mural that pays tribute to the town’s rich cultural and industrial heritage. This not only provides enhanced protection to local businesses but also serves as a fortified barrier that safeguards the important railway infrastructure, thereby contributing to the overall resilience of the region in the event of potential flood threats.
