Space House Shortlisted at the BREEAM Awards 2025

We are excited to share that Space House has been shortlisted at this year’s BREEAM Awards 2025 in the Peoples’ Choice Award – Commercial Building and the Best Refurbishment & Fit-Out categories.

The BREEAM Awards are held annually to celebrate excellence in sustainable building design, development, and management. They recognise projects and organisations that exemplify high performance, innovation, and the potential for wider adoption in sustainable practices. Chosen by an independent panel of judges, the winners showcase the leading edge of sustainability, promoting both human well-being and the preservation of natural resources.

Pell Frischmann worked closely with Seaforth Land and architects Squire & Partners, providing Structural and Civil Engineering services for this low-carbon adaptive re-use of the iconic Grade II listed building.

The building has recently undergone an extensive transformation programme; extending its floor space by 25,000 square feet whilst preserving its iconic cylindrical form and distinctive Y-shaped supports. Through a ‘use less’ approach the redevelopment has minimised its carbon impact, vertical extensions were carefully added, and core areas were remodelled to meet current standards, improving workspace quality, enhancing natural daylight, and creating additional office space with 360-degree views across London.

We wish all the entrants the best of luck!
