London Institute of Healthcare Engineering & Space House Shortlisted at RIBA London Awards 2026
We are excited to share that the London Institute of Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) and Space House have both been shortlisted at this year’s RIBA London Awards 2026.
Our work on Space House involved providing structural and civil engineering services, working in collaboration with Seaforth Land and architects Squire & Partners, alongside Atelier Ten, Donald Insall Associates, Gustafson Porter + Bowman, Gardiner & Theobald, and BAM, on the transformation of this iconic Grade II listed building.
At the London Institute of Healthcare Engineering, we provided civil and structural engineering services for King’s College London, working in collaboration with Morgan Sindall and HLM Architects. The new facility brings together leading academics, clinicians, and medical technology companies within a shared, purpose-built environment.
The RIBA London Awards are part of the annual regional programme run by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), recognising outstanding architecture across Greater London. The awards celebrate exceptional completed projects, judged on design quality, sustainability and overall contribution to the built environment. This year’s shortlist features 72 projects, with winners announced later this spring. Successful schemes may also progress to national honours, including the RIBA National Awards and the RIBA Stirling Prize.
On both projects being shortlisted, Jonathan Childs, Buildings Sector Director at Pell Frischmann said:

Seaforth’s and Squire and Partners vision delivered a stunning modern workspace that is an exemplary example of adaptive reuse and circularity. King’s College London and HLM’s vision delivered a new, multi-disciplinary research hub, that sits beautifully on the banks of the Thames within the surrounding historic estate and enables academics, clinicians and med-tech companies to come together.”
