Pell Frischmann’s Zainab Adigun Named as Finalist in WE50 2022 Awards

Pell Frischmann is delighted to announce our Senior Structural Engineer, Zainab Adigun, has been named as one of 100 Highly Commended Finalists in the Top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50) 2022 Awards.

Founded by the Women’s Engineering Society in 2016, the WE50 awards are a UK event linked to International Women in Engineering Day. This year’s theme is Inventors and Innovators. The award celebrates outstanding women in the industry who have created solutions or improved existing products and processes, with special recognition given to those innovations that focus on sustainability. The award also honours those individuals who support and champion fellow women and girls in engineering.

Zainab’s entry recognises her development of a one-page technical note on the practical application of dismountable composite floors. The technical note encourages the reuse of existing composite floors, where available, to help achieve key sustainability targets such as LETI 2025 and 2030.

The achievement highlights Zainab’s passion for inspiring the next generation of female engineers. Whilst regularly taking part in secondary school visits, Zainab also volunteers as a board member for a non-profit organisation which works to expose young people from ethnic minority and low socioeconomic backgrounds to careers in engineering.

On being named as a finalist, Zainab said,
