Pell Frischmann is delighted to announce it will be working alongside Southwark Council on a bespoke programme of roof top developments in order to provide crucial housing in South London.
Southwark Council recently launched one of London’s most ambitious housing programmes, aiming to provide 11,000 new homes by 2043. With homes already delivered, and space being at a premium in an already congested part of London.
Our collaboration with Southwark Estates roof top expansion is an innovative solution to unlock the space for approximately 217 more homes on 43 roof top developments across 9 estates in the borough.
Primarily, Pell Frischmann’s Fire Team will be carrying out site visits and fire safety assessment, following non-intrusive fire surveys and procedures, collecting data on the existing conditions of the building and its fire safety provisions, as well as how the rooftop developments will impact these.
Dr. Rodrigo Machado Tavares, Fire Engineering Lead at Pell Frischmann:
We are delighted to support Southwark Council on their ambitious housing plan. With over 12,000 families on the waiting list, these redevelopments are absolutely crucial in providing people with homes. Providing Fire Safety to the accommodation, we want to ensure families are safe in case any fire disaster occurs. Our experts will endeavour to work closely with the council, partners and families on this life-changing scheme. We can’t wait to get started.
We continue to follow safeguarding measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Pell Frischmann looks forward to working with our clients and partners to provide a safe and maintainable service throughout the scheme.
