Pell Frischmann’s Birmingham Traffic & Transport Team Volunteers at SIFA Fireside
We’re proud to see our members from the Birmingham Traffic & Transport Team, including Lucy Frearson, Steve Bibb, Dan Hounsell, Dan Susans, Matthew Stevens and Eimhir Dundas, taking part in volunteering at SIFA Fireside.
SIFA Fireside is a Birmingham based charity that supports people experiencing, at risk of, or in recovery from the effects of homelessness, through a range of services, skills development workshops and activity classes.
Donations of food, toiletries and clothing were taken along to the shelter and staff spent a morning helping in the kitchen with breakfast and lunch service, as well as working in the storeroom to sort food and clothing contributions.
Steve Bibb, Associate Transport Planner said:
SIFA Fireside provided an excellent
opportunity for us to put our volunteering leave
to good use, allowing us to immediately see the positive
impact our support has in helping such a worthwhile cause.
Lucy Frearson, Senior Transport Planner said:
I wasn’t sure what to expect coming here,
but I’ve come away with a more positive mindset
than I thought I would have.
Volunteering with SIFA Fireside allowed them to help people in need and learn more about the great work that the charity does for Birmingham citizens. Further details about the charity and their activities can be found via their website.
Social Value at Pell Frischmann
At Pell Frischmann, we are committed to delivering a positive social value impact on society, the economy and environment within which we work, whilst continuing to provide world-class professional technical services in the built environment.
Pell Frischmann’s Social Value Strategy aims to improve community wellbeing, inclusion, cohesion and empowerment, whilst providing a baseline to measure our ability to contribute sustainably through our regional activities.
By considering social values in all aspects of our business, from a project’s impact on the local region, to all decisions made within the project’s lifecycle, we can play our part in cultivating a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive society.
The aims of our Social Value Strategy align with our ‘Noble Purpose’. In 2015, Pell Frischmann was acquired by RSBG, the patient capital arm of RAG-Stiftung, a foundation with the long-term public purpose to deal with the environmental and social commitments resulting from Germany’s hard-coal mining industry. RSBG’s mission is to generate sustainable funds for the foundation, so our work directly contributes to protecting the environment.
