Pell Frischmann to Conduct 19 Principal Bridge Inspections Across Tameside

Pell Frischmann is pleased to announce that we’ve been appointed by Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council to undertake 19 Principal Bridge Inspections on Tunnels, Railways, and Road Bridges throughout Tameside, East Manchester, from now until March 2025.

During our Principal Bridge Inspections, we will utilise drones, underbridge units, and confined space techniques to ensure minimal disruption to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

We will collaborate with local authority departments for roads and vegetation clearance, as well as with Network Rail, the Environment Agency, and the Canal and River Trust. Our efforts will be supported by our approved suppliers, who will provide specialised services such as Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPs), confined space support, and traffic management.

Andrew Jones, our Civil Structures Associate Director, said:

We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Network Rail, the Environment Agency and the Canal and River Trust. This project allows us to further strengthen our valued partnership and support the council in delivering high-quality, safe, and resilient infrastructure for the community.  A combination of drone surveys, Confined Spaces, CCTV and working platform access techniques within traffic management at off-peak times ensures that we undertake high-quality inspections whilst minimising disruption to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

Pell Frischmann looks forward to supporting Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council in improving its highway infrastructure and ensuring its long-term quality.
