Highways & Transportation - Sector Director

Over 25 years as a Chartered Civil Engineer, Damian has managed numerous long-term, collaborative highways sector frameworks for Local Authority, National Highways (formerly Highways England) and private-sector clients. He is currently the Highways and Transportation Sector Director for our UK business, responsible for sector-strategy development, work-winning and managing key client accounts including several high-profile framework arrangements.

Leading our Transport Planning Team, Damian is technically skilled across the range of engineering disciplines and has extensive expertise in transport modelling, appraisal and economics. He has driven internal and external change for continuous improvement and establishing collaborative teams, many of which are alliances or partnerships to achieve collective objectives.

As a lead author for the ICE’s Northern Infrastructure Strategy, Damian is an advocate and contributor to the Northern Powerhouse debate. As a registered Supervising Civil Engineer, he mentors graduates and technicians and supports the industry as a Committee Member and a two-time past Chair for ICE Yorkshire and Humber, as well as a recent trustee of the ICE and a Fellow of the Institution.
