Pell Frischmann Collaborates with Oxfordshire County Council to Enhance Active Travel Initiatives
Pell Frischmann is collaborating with Oxfordshire County Council to deliver a series of active travel schemes aimed at improving sustainable transport options across the region. These projects focus on enhancing walking and cycling infrastructure, promoting safer streets, and encouraging eco-friendly travel choices.
The Carterton and Eynsham Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIP) introduce a strategic, long-term approach to enhancing cycling and walking infrastructure across Carterton, Eynsham and its surrounding areas. Designed to be implemented over the next decade, the LCWIPs aims to develop a well-connected, accessible, and sustainable active travel network. This initiative plays a crucial role in the council’s commitment to increasing the number of trips made on foot or by bicycle.
Additionally, we are collaborating with Oxfordshire County Council on side road entry treatments (SRET) and active travel enhancements at four key junctions along Audlett Drive in Abingdon. These improvements will strengthen the existing walking and cycling infrastructure, providing safe and continuous crossing provision for pedestrians and cyclists between Abingdon’s town centre and its north-eastern areas.
These initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting sustainable transport and improving active travel options across Oxfordshire. By enhancing walking and cycling infrastructure, Pell Frischmann and Oxfordshire County Council are creating safer, more accessible routes that encourage greener travel choices. As these projects progress, they will play a vital role in shaping a more sustainable, connected, and active future for communities across the region.
