Pell Frischmann Volunteers at Brighton’s Beach Tidy Up

Last week, a few of our colleagues teamed up with Kier and AECOM on behalf of Brighton & Hove City Council to volunteer for their ‘Tidy Up Team’ litter scheme. This involved cleaning Brighton’s beach, contributing to the preservation of the shore’s marine life and allowing visitors to enjoy it.

The council’s mission is to help protect Brighton’s beach and green spaces by educating and encouraging individuals to recycle safely, dispose of waste properly, and reduce waste, the main cause of marine life endangerment.

Starting early at 11:00 am, the team assisted with a beach clean-up at Brighton Palace Pier, using a litter picker and rubbish bag at a designated clean station on the site. Everyone left feeling fulfilled, knowing they helped protect marine life and kept the beach clean for everyone to enjoy.

Paul Sturch, our Water Technical Director, said:

It was a real pleasure to be part of the Brighton Beach Tidy Up alongside our fantastic delivery partners Kier and AECOM. Working together to support the local community and protect our coastline was not only rewarding but a great example of collaboration in action. The energy, commitment, and teamwork on the day were inspiring, and it was brilliant to see so many people come together with a shared purpose.

Lee Brock, our Water & Utilities Director, said:

A fantastic opportunity to provide some Social Value and serve the community, great to see all
stakeholders participating.
