Pell Frischmann Appointed to Enhance Active Travel in York
Pell Frischmann is pleased to announce that it has been appointed to the York Active Travel Programme. Selected as part of the design team by City of York Council, the scheme creates an exciting opportunity for Pell Frischmann to contribute to the improvement of active travel infrastructure in York and promote sustainable transportation in the city.
The York Active Travel Programme aims to enhance areas in York to encourage active travel by foot, bike, and other means. As part of this initiative, we will be undertaking a range of projects, including the enhancement of the City Centre North-South Cycle Route and the University East-West Campus Link.
We understand the importance of ensuring that our active travel designs are inclusive and accessible to all members of our community. That’s why we are proud to announce our partnership with Proudlock Associates, a leading firm specialising in inclusive engagement and design. This collaboration will ensure that our designs are not only effective but also cater to the needs of everyone in the community.
Pell Frischmann’s Highways & Transport Divisional Director, Richard Ellam, said:
As a multidisciplinary consultancy working in the built environment, it is our responsibility to consider the impact of our work on the environment and society. Our involvement on this scheme presents a unique opportunity for us to promote sustainable transportation and contribute to the development of a healthier and greener city.
We look forward to working closely with City of York Council and partners to make active travel a more attractive and convenient option for residents and visitors of York.
