We are thrilled to have attended our client Lovell Partnerships’ topping-out ceremony of Morris North on Tuesday in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The topping-out ceremony was attended by Councillors Anthony Okereke and Dominic Mbang as we celebrated the final concrete being laid.

Morris North is part of the wider regeneration scheme of the Morris and Maryon estate which will bring forth a vision of approximately 930 dwellings with diverse tenures, including private, affordable rent, and shared ownership in Woolwich.

Pell Frischmann was appointed to provide civil engineering, structural engineering, highways, geotechnical, contamination and remediation engineering services.

The sites have significant topographical challenges. Working in collaboration with the team we devised an engineering strategy which aligned the new building proposals closely with the existing topography and infrastructure. This delivered a significant capital cost reduction and programme savings when compared to the original outline design proposals.

We have also been exploring the advantages of utilising augmented reality technology on-site while the project is in the construction stage. We are bringing our BIM models to life on-site and comparing them with the finished structure, using Gamma AR technology. This makes it easier for us to conduct quality checks and enhances our communication with the contractor and client during our site visits.

The project is aiming to reach completion by 2025.
