Manchester Office Welcomes T Level Student
In July, a T Level student from a local college, undertook a four-week placement with Pell Frischmann in the Manchester office.
Ed Blizzard spent four weeks, mainly in the Transport Infrastructure team in Manchester getting involved in many projects. Ed attended a site visit, helped with drawing production, attended virtual progress meetings, and worked with colleagues in transport planning, geotechnics, structures and bridges.
Ed was able to shadow Pell Frischmann Engineers on site as part of the Victoria North project – gaining valuable knowledge of how varied working life as a civil engineering consultant can be.
The purpose of the placement was for Ed to experience civil engineering in real life and experience different disciplines to what he’s studied so far in his Civil Engineering T-Level. The placement also helped Pell Frischmann fulfil our social value commitments for the Penwortham Masterplan project.

Reflecting on his experience with Pell Frischmann, Ed Blizzard said:
My experience was amazing at Pell Frischmann. Not only did I gain crucial experience from the work I completed but also the people I worked with. The comfort and welcoming feel the workers gave me was outstanding and this led to completing work more independently and quicker. In regards to my personal course, T-Level Civil Engineering, this work experience was perfect for giving me a further advantage over other peers in my class to gain a better grade and understanding of the course overall.
I would like to thank everyone at Pell Frischmann for the amazing time and feedback they gave me.
