Pell Frischmann’s Principal Transport Planner Shortlisted for Emerging Professional/Apprentice Award at the CIHT West Midlands Awards 2026

We are delighted that Lucy Frearson, Principal Transport Planner at Pell Frischmann, has been shortlisted for the CIHT West Midlands Emerging Professional/Apprentice Award 2026.

With over nine years’ experience, Lucy has progressed from Graduate to Principal through exceptional technical skill, leadership and influence. Her role focuses on shaping transport strategies, building strong stakeholder consensus and producing robust business cases to secure major funding to deliver sustainable, inclusive and well-connected transport across the West Midlands. She is a trusted client lead on high-profile projects, known for turning complex policy objectives into fundable, deliverable schemes.

Alongside her project leadership, Lucy plays a vital role within the team as a mentor, reviewer and role model. She actively supports graduates and apprentices through technical guidance, quality assurance and career development, while promoting inclusive practice and professional standards. Approachable, credible and highly respected by clients and colleagues alike, Lucy embodies what it means to be an emerging leader in transport planning and a strong ambassador for both Pell Frischmann and the profession.

The Emerging Professional/Apprentice Award recognises individuals who are making a valuable contribution to highways or transportation in the West Midlands while establishing themselves as future leaders of the profession; something Lucy strongly exemplifies through both her project delivery and her impact on people around her.

On being shortlisted, Lucy commented:

“To be nominated for this award is a real privilege. It not only reflects my own effort, but the teamwork, support and mentorship of the team that I have had the pleasure of working with over the past nine years.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 7th May. Good luck Lucy!
