Throughout the month of February, Pell Frischmann has been celebrating LGBT+ History Month. We see this as a time to acknowledge the individuals within our organisation that identify with being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or another term they feel best describes their gender and/or sexuality.

LGBT+ History Month – A discussion with Ryan Williams and Keir Pratt

It is a fact that spreading awareness of diversity and the struggles that different groups face can help to create a more open, understanding, and inclusive workforce. LGBT+ History Month is an annual celebration by Schools OUT UK, which was first held in 2005 to encourage ‘educating out’ prejudice and make LGBT+ people, in all their rich diversity, visible.

We are focusing upon how the members of the LGBT+ community’s history, lives and experiences contribute and enrich the culture of our industry. Our organisation recognises how it is essential that all employees feel free to express their true identity to ensure they feel welcomed and valued within Pell Frischmann.

To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, Ryan Williams, an Engineer part of our EDI Action Group had a discussion with Major Bids Director, Keir Pratt.

Please watch the video below to hear their thoughts on what it is like being part of the LGBT+ community, and how this has shaped their experiences working within the engineering industry.
