Graham Lee Appointed as Chair of Knowledge & Practice Standing Committee
We are pleased to share that our Head of Landscape, Graham Lee, has been appointed to the Landscape Institute’s (LI) Standing Committee for Knowledge and Practice as Chair and as a member of the LI Board of Trustees.
The Landscape Institute is the UK’s chartered body for landscape professionals and an educational charity committed to advancing the practice of landscape. Through the work of its members, the Institute strives to protect, enhance and conserve the natural and built environment, creating spaces that benefit communities and nature.
Members are at the heart of the LI, supporting the professional development and practice of all individuals in each committee. Graham’s exceptional, inclusive and value-led leadership has earned him the position of Chair of the Knowledge & Practice Standing Committee, where he will help deliver the LI’s objectives through rigorous collaboration and facilitation, helping shape the future of landscape and the profession. As Chair, Graham will provide insights, information and advice to the Council and Board to support well-informed decisions and activities. The committee will report to the Council with regular updates on its activities and plans, and present an annual report to the Board.
As part of his responsibilities, Graham will also join the LI Board of Trustees, representing the leadership and governance of the organisation. Trustees have a legal and fiduciary duty to manage assets responsibly, act in the beneficiaries’ interests and ensure compliance with the law.
Upon his appointment, Graham Lee stated:
The Chair of the Standing Committee for Knowledge and Practice can have a real tangible impact on the work of the Landscape Institute, and I am very pleased to be given this opportunity to lead and facilitate the technical work of the LI, through identifying and helping to deliver priorities for knowledge and practice work, and setting LI objectives.
We would like to congratulate Graham on this well-deserved appointment, which reflects his leadership, expertise and commitment to advancing professional practice and to helping shape the future of landscape.
