Pell Frischmann Joins Make Architects, Desco and Westminster City Council at FOOTPRINT+ 2024

During last week’s FOOTPRINT+ 2024 conference, Juliano Chapon, Pell Frischmann’s Technical Director for Buildings, teamed up with Amanda Sexton and James Redman from Make Architects, David Starbuck from Desco, our sister company, and Aidan Nyman from Westminster City Council for a panel discussion on the FOOTPRINT+ Retrofit Agenda Stage. Their focus was on revitalizing a 1930s leisure centre, specifically the Seymour Centre, under the guidance of Westminster City Council.

The Seymour Centre project serves as a prime example of a fabric-first approach to decarbonization and sustainability. Embracing its art deco origins, originally designed by Kenneth Cross in the 1930s, this Grade II-listed building will undergo a transformation to evolve from a traditional leisure centre into a modern, sustainable community hub.

FOOTPRINT+ is the world’s most advanced international conference for the decarbonisation of the built environment. Held this year at Old Billingsgate Market, FOOTPRINT+ explores how technology and materials, energy systems and data can work together synergistically to drive down buildings’ carbon emissions.
