Farm Street Wins British Homes Award for Affordable Housing
Pell Frischmann is delighted to share that Farm Street has won the British Homes Award for Affordable Housing!
The scheme, delivering 14 units of affordable housing for key workers in the heart of Mayfair, is an unconventional-yet-vibrant design in a once dilapidated building over a cleaning depot.
As Highways & Transport Consultants on this scheme, we are pleased to be working alongside MSMR Architects, Caudwell Properties, and Westminster City Council to help provide this innovative design created out of robust, sustainable, long-life materials.
Victoria Balboa, Divisional Director of Traffic & Transport, said:
We are so pleased this scheme has been recognised by the British Homes Award. Westminster City Council’s ‘City for All’ agenda, to provide more affordable housing, has been a key driver for the wider team which we’ve thoroughly embraced.
A tour de force! 14 key worker apartments over a street cleansing depot in the prime location of Mayfair and a conservation area. It’s beautifully executed.
Very strong character and commendable execution and materials. Real contribution to enhance character of the area. Vital contribution for a small number of units in a unique residential market. Good eco credentials.
Interesting street scape study and incorporating a mix of uses. Great sustainability measures. interesting brick detailing that reflects the character of the street well. Great quality throughout this building.
