About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical engineer with excellent interpretative reporting and geotechnical design skills, e.g. shallow foundations, piles, retaining walls. This is essential experience for the role and as a result you will be given the opportunity to collaborate on a range of exciting projects.

Duties will include design and management of ground investigations, preparation of desk studies and interpretative reporting, problem solving, foundation design and slope stability assessments. Responsibilities will also include training and support of team members, project management and working towards the sector business plans. There may be some line management expected, so we will expect you to be engaging and a team player as Pell Frischmann is a very collaborative environment.

Projects include rail, highways, infrastructure and development with clients including developers, major contractors, local authorities, major infrastructure suppliers and Network Rail. Working on such diverse projects will aid your individual development and will allow you to ensure any direct reports are progressing too.

Other requirements will see you working to develop relationships internally and externally to aid in the sector plans for growth. This could be by via client meetings, networking or even by gaining repeat business by delivering quality work.

EssentialPreferred
Qualifications - A Degree in engineering geology, civil engineering or similar.

- Be at or approaching chartered status (CEng / CGeol)
- Post graduate degree (MSc/MEng) in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, soil mechanics, foundation engineering etc.

Experience - 8 years+ of relevant post-graduate experience.

- Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and familiarity with UK soils and rock.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and geotechnical software.
Skills - Have excellent written and spoken English.

- Hold a clean UK driving licence.

- Ability to lead and develop a team.

- Confidence to liaise with internal and external clients.
- CSCS card and PTS an advantage.
