Blackpool Tram Extension Shortlisted for Project of the Year
Pell Frischmann is delighted that the Blackpool Tram Extension has been shortlisted for the Lancashire Sub-Regional Project of Year, part of the North West Regional Construction Awards (NWRCA). The awards will be held on 19 November in Liverpool.
Led by John Sisk and Sons, with design partners Arup and Steconfer for Blackpool Council, Pell Frischmann’s Highways & Transportation Team, working closely with our partners at 4way, provided Traffic Signal Design, Traffic Safety Verification, Traffic Signal Testing and a site supervisory role.
The Blackpool Tram Extension is part of the wider Blackpool Council Talbot Gateway regeneration project, aiming to connect the promenade tramway with Blackpool North Railway Station. Pell Frischmann has supported this portfolio of improvements, including town centre regeneration, as part of the Quality Corridors Programme, and transport infrastructure improvements through the Town Centre Access Programme.
Matthew Davies, Pell Frischmann’s Divisional Director, said:
This recognition is as a result of a fantastic collaborative effort from all those involved and as a consequence of John Sisk and Sons construction of the high quality, transformational on-site infrastructure. Pell Frischmann’s services have been delivered by our locally based specialist staff. We are looking forward to hearing the results.
Congratulations to all those involved on this scheme!
