Principal Consultant Helps England Secure European Championship Gold

Congratulations to our Principal Consultant, Abigail Walters, who has recently returned from the Federation of International Touch (FIT) Rugby European Championship in France, where she represented England Women’s 35s and helped the team secure the gold medal.

England enjoyed an outstanding tournament, playing a total of nine matches and losing just one along the way. Their impressive campaign culminated in the Gold Medal Match, where they defeated Wales 4-2 to be crowned European champions.

Abi played a key role throughout the competition, delivering a series of standout performances that contributed significantly to the team’s success. Across the tournament, she scored an impressive 10 touchdowns, making her the top scorer for England Women’s 35s.

On being crowned European Champions and being a top goal scorer, she said:

“I was privileged to represent England at the touch Ruby European Championships in France recently. It was my first capped tournament and a culmination of years of hard work. It was an excellent team and we worked hard to win the gold medal, beating a tough Wales team in the final. Personally, it was also amazing to be our top scorer for the tournament!”

Congratulations, Abi, on bringing home European Gold and on an exceptional tournament.
