I joined Pell Frischmann really by chance, as I was approached to head the
Environment team in the South-West, which, at the time, took some convincing to
leave the comfort of my perch in the Midlands.
Three years on, and five promotions later, I'm now the Sector Director for all of Pell
Frischmann's environmental capabilities, with free reign to develop our environment
business, working with our Senior Directors, who I meet with and speak to over the
phone, on a regular basis. I also manage the Exeter Environment team including an
eclectic mix of scientists, engineers, and specialists - which means there is never a
dull moment in the office!
Even as a Director, my learning doesn't stop. Working in some of the most challenging environments overseas has put my expertise to the test, while at the same time, these experiences have been hugely rewarding. In particular, being involved in landmark events such as providing environmental input for the masterplan review of Kirkuk in Iraq, part of the reconstruction effort of the city. Also, short-term assignments in the UAE; working from our Abu Dhabi office on fascinating projects such as the Abu Dhabi Lagoons Club and the Mussafah Labour Community.
Being a company big on lifestyle, a typical wind down after a day at work usually involves a team meal at a local curry house or Chinese restaurant which is great to relax, have a laugh, and enjoy some good food.
