Buildings - Education
Our work in the education sector began in 1976, when we designed the American School in St. John’s Wood. Our experience grew to include Colleges and Universities throughout the world. In 2000, we became an equity partner in two PFI projects to build schools in Sandwell and Staffordshire which included the 25-year concession as facilities manager. Education’s challenges are always evolving. Shifts in funding models, advances in technology and new teaching approaches are transforming the criteria for quality in learning environments. We work closely with educators, funders, architects and developers to produce buildings and technical solutions that meet their specific needs in primary and secondary education.
Our clients’ requirements range from commercial solutions that conserve scarce resources to flexible spaces that can be adapted to future needs. Our wealth of international experience – commercial, creative and technical – allows us to respond to even the most specialised of challenges.

Imperial College London is developing a new campus on the old BBC Woodlands site in Hammersmith, just south of the Westway. Currently known as “Imperial West”, the new campus will be a mixed use development, combining research and teaching space with postgraduate accommodation, new homes and retail and leisure uses. We have been working with architects Aukett Fitzroy Robinson on the masterplan proposals for the development which includes significant research and teaching space to provide capacity to expand and consolidate Imperial’s activities, and complement those on the College’s existing West London campuses. read more
