Pell Frischmann Awarded Highway Partnership Award

Wed 27th May 2015 - 15:52

Recently, Pell Frischmann in partnership with Telford and Wrekin Council, and Jacobs-Ringway were awarded the Highways Partnership Award at the IHE Dinner for the Telford Future: Town Centre Improvements.

The Telford Future Box Road Scheme is transforming the heart of Telford as a former 1960s New Town.  The 3 lane, one-way system hindered further development and acted as a barrier to pedestrians and other sustainable modes for years. Pell Frishcmann have developed a scheme in a plan-led way, to ensure that the town centre transport network can support major redevelopment and growth in Telford.  The scheme is helping to deliver the Central Telford Area Action Plan (CTAAP) including the £250m Southwater Regeneration scheme and a planned £200m redevelopment of Telford Shopping Centre. Pell Frischmann have developed the initial plan, modelled, designed and appraised scheme, led on the Examination in Public (EiP) where the scheme has subsequently been adopted through planning. In addition, Pell Frischmann have developed a ‘Circular 05/05' (Planning Obligations) compliant contribution strategy as well as successful funding bids through Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) - Key and Major scheme components and Pinch Point Programme. The successfully funded scheme has been through detailed designs in collaboration with Jacobs, and Ringway (Eurovia) has delivered the scheme.

Once again, thank you for all your work which has contributed to a success.
