Our Wakefield office undertakes large scale projects such as the Forth Rail Bridge Structural Maintenance Programme and the Jamaica Highway 2000 scheme, where our geotechnical staff faced challenging ground conditions throughout construction.

We also handle major PFI and DBFO projects, providing facilities and maintenance support to schools in Staffordshire, street lighting in Blackpool and specialist design services to the Highways Agency on the M6 and A1.

Our Wakefield office is also the base of the Traffic and Transportation team who work on projects such as Thorpe Park in Leeds, a 1.8m sq ft business park development and an Area Traffic Control System for over 200 junctions in Mumbai, India.

Senior Engineer - Flood Resilience

Main Purpose of the Job

The Flood Resilience and Climate Change team in our Wakefield office is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer / Project Manager.  The team works on diverse flood resilience, flood alleviation, infrastructure, and environmental projects for a range of private and public sector clients.  As a result of current work and increased project wins, we are seeking an individual to work as part of the growing team delivering these projects providing effective project management and technical input.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        Project Management of assigned projects as required with good commercial awareness and financial control

·        Carry out technical and other work as required on assigned projects whilst ensuring high levels of safety, quality and environmental responsibility

Associate Highways Engineer

Main Purpose of the Job

We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Associate to manage an existing team in our Birmingham office and grow our existing Highways design capabilities. Work includes feasibility through to construction for all elements of highway design including bridges, along with various other civil structures projects for a variety of client. Senior Geotechnical Engineer

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer with good interpretative reporting and geotechnical design skills e.g. shallow foundations, piles, retaining walls.

Duties will include design and management of ground investigations, preparation of desk studies and interpretative reporting, problem solving, foundation design and slope stability assessments. Responsibilities will also include training and support of younger team members, project management, liaison with clients (both externally and internally from other sectors/offices).

You will need:

-A Degree in engineering geology, civil engineering or similar.

-Post graduate degree (MSc/MEng) in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, soil mechanics, foundation engineering etc.

- 5 years+ of relevant post-graduate experience.

-Be at or approaching chartered status (CEng / CGeol).

-Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and familiarity with UK soils and rock.

-Working knowledge of Word, Excel and geotechnical software.

-Have excellent written and spoken English.

-Hold a clean UK driving licence.

Senior/Traffic Signal Design Engineer

The Wakefield office of Pell Frischmann was established over 30 years ago and has a long established reputation in providing traffic signal solutions for both developers and local Authorities whether a single junction or a complex network is being implemented or enhanced. ·        Must maintain good understanding of all relevant standards, H&S Legislation and current relevant design methods.

Technical Director - Traffic & Transport

Main Purpose of the Job

This role is responsible for leading and managing a credible transportation team of the Pell Frischmann business. A key focus will be the management, growth and development of the highly motivated team of transport planners and traffic engineers. The role will also include management of significant client base both current and future.  Reporting to the Divisional Director of the sector, the role holder will be responsible for working for this area of the business as well as reviewing projects with a national and a regional remit.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

·       Development, leadership and delivery of the sector business plan for the region including management of significant client base both current and future

·       Take a prominent role in delivering the sector business plan

·       Co-ordination of resources and ensuring staff capabilities are sufficient

·       Identify potential clients and liaise with the Divisional Director / Sector Director to define market and client development strategies

·       Ensure bids submitted reflect client requirements and are prepared and submitted in compliance with PF procedures and incorporate legal and commercial reviews as appropriate

·       Mobilise resources from supporting departments as required

·       Develop and maintain departmental systems and procedures

·       Promote close working across the group

·       Line management responsibility for a team. Responsible for employee development through the Performance Development Review (PDR) process. Ensuring Training Plans are completed and followed up as appropriate

·       Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the projects on time, to cost and to quality within the transportation portfolio

·       Providing technical leadership for projects within the transportation portfolio.

 

Qualifications
