What we are looking for:

Senior Civil  Engineer

Due to an increased workload, our water team is expanding and we require a skilled Senior Engineer  to work on clean & wastewater non-infrastructure projects. 

Responsibilities:

·        Project management of assigned projects as required.

 

·        Line management and mentoring of individuals within the section.

·        Carrying out own discipline technical and other work as required on assigned projects.

 

·        Technical quality of work from team (own discipline).

 

Main Duties:

·        Undertake the role of the Project Manager as required.

 

·        Undertake the role of Line Manager as required.

·        Prepare or supervise own discipline designs, design calculations, tender documentation, scheme evaluations,  design statements and other reports as identified in the Project Management Plan on assigned projects.

·        Monitor quality of own discipline team work in accordance with good engineering practice, relevant standards, Codes of Practice, current design methods and Health & Safety legislation.

·        Check/ approve own discipline work, including third party design proposals, as identified in the Project Management Plan on assigned projects.

·        Carry out other duties identified in the Project Management Plan on assigned projects.

·        Have a good understanding of all relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety Legislation and current design methods and provide general technical support to own discipline team members.

·        Assist with the preparation and maintenance of own discipline standard specifications as required.

·        Assist with the promotion of the capabilities of the company to current and prospective clients.

·        Assist with monitoring, planning and forecasting utilisation of project resources.

·        Comply with BMS Procedures.

 

Qualifications:

·        Suitable civil engineering qualifications are required, at or working towards CEng.

Senior/Electrical Engineer - Water & Waste

We provide design services for large clients such as Wessex Water and South West Water and get to work on a diverse range of water projects. Working with clients such as these means we have to be extremely customer focused, have great communicators ensuring they get the best service all the way.

 

Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the M&E Director you will join an established team of Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineers. As the Electrical Engineer you will be expected to lead multidisciplinary design schemes, assist with delivery of projects within the Water and Waste sectors as well as assist the project teams to complete scopes of work within the agreed timeframe

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        Act in the capacity of Lead Electrical Engineer on both single and multi-disciplinary projects.

·        Design power systems (mainly low voltage), automation and instrumentation systems.

·        Undertake site surveys of existing electrical infrastructure and produce technical feasibility reports

·        Produce electrical calculations, electrical schedules, specifications, Single Line Diagrams and system architecture.

·        Undertake checks and reviews of electrical designs prepared by others.

·        Produce User Requirement Specifications/Control Philosophies and P&I Diagrams

·        Produce electrical calculations, electrical schedules, specifications, Single Line Diagrams and system architecture.

·        Effectively manage project stakeholders (clients, contractors and other design disciplines etc).

·        Implement the project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standards.

·        Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the other Pell Frischmann discipline leads on projects.

 

Essential Experience

·        A minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience in relevant discipline.

·        Experience of outline and detailed electrical design aspects of Water and Waste Sector.

·        A good understanding and experience in using all of the relevant standards, Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Legislation relevant to the Water and Waste sector.

·        Experience in using current design methods.

·        Experience in low voltage design.

·        Be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

Preferred Experience

·        Experience of ATEX/DSEAR.

·        Experience of Variable Speed Drives, electric motors and power switchgear.

·        Working as part of a co-located team within a Client office.

·        Experience of MCC, PLC/SCADA and instrumentation specification and design.

Essential Qualifications

·        BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (HNC/HND).

·        Chartered Electrical Engineer: CEng (or working towards membership).

·        Member of the IET (or working towards membership).

Preferred Qualifications

·        CAD/BIM applications

·        Amtech electrical software.

Project Manager

 

Main Purpose of the Job

 

Reporting to the Framework Manager you will be responsible for managing the effective delivery of our design services across a range of varied and interesting projects to cost, programme and the required quality. This will be a challenging and exciting role which will be well suited to a highly motivated and organised team player.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        Act as the client facing entity for allocated projects

·        Managing stakeholder requirements and expectations

·        Preparation and updating of programmes

·        Preparation of fee estimates and monitoring of expenditure

·        Identification and systematic management of risk and change

·        Leading and motivating the project team

·        Maintaining communications with stakeholders and the project team

·        Day to day management of projects and team members

·        Ensuring compliance with regards to Pell Frischmann’s BMS

·        Other duties as required by the Framework Manager

Essential Experience

·        A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a formal Project Manager role

·        Experience of managing and leading the design team and processes within the discipline of Civil Engineering

·        Experience of undertaking a client facing role and stakeholder management

·        A good understanding of all relevant standards and Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Legislation within the construction industry

Preferred Experience

·        Experience of the water sector

·        Experience of working with South West Water and/or Wessex Water

Preferred Qualifications

·        A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

·        Formal Association for Project Management or PRINCE2 practitioner qualifications
